New York has adopted the Clean Energy Standard but our fight is far from over! While more than 26 percent of New York’s electric power comes from clean sources, we have a long way to go before achieving the CES’ ambitious goals for renewable energy sources.
We need your help to get the necessary transmission infrastructure built. Doing so will keep upstate clean natural gas generation viable, will support the continued operation of New York’s nuclear plants and will encourage development of new large-scale renewable energy resources.
The CES is a “win-win” for New Yorkers, helping us tackle the fundamental impacts of climate change, increase the use of renewable energy, recognize the value of carbon-free nuclear energy and maintain well-paying jobs, all while creating new jobs throughout the state.
